A 3.5-inch embroidered reproduction of the circular “Mata Flechas” insignia associated with Fuerzas Especiales Casco and the Los Chapitos faction of the Sinaloa Cartel. The design features gold lettering around a black ring, a white central field, and a white satin border.
At the center, a skull marked “80-81” appears over two crossed AK-pattern rifles. The skull can be read as imagery of death and intimidation, while the rifles communicate the group’s armed identity. The number “81” appears on both sides, each above four small gold stars.

Historical Context
“Fuerzas Especiales Casco” translates to “Casco Special Forces,” the group’s self-styled designation. Although casco means “helmet” in Spanish, here it refers to Óscar Luciano Martínez Larios, known as “El Casco” or “El 81.” His brother, Gabriel Nicolás Martínez Larios, is known as “El Gabito” or “El 80.” Both have been identified in reporting as Los Chapitos operators in southern Sinaloa. The combined “80-81” on the skull is consistent with a reference to the brothers’ numerical aliases, while the repeated “81” emphasizes the connection to El Casco.
The lower inscription, “Mata Flechas,” can be read as “Flechas Killers”: a hostile reference to Grupo Flechas, also known as Flechas MZ or Operativa MZ, an armed group associated with the rival Mayo Zambada faction of the Sinaloa Cartel.
The rivalry grew from a power struggle between El Chapo’s sons, Los Chapitos, and his former partner El Mayo Zambada’s faction following El Chapo’s arrest and extradition. Tensions escalated into open warfare in September 2024 after Joaquín Guzmán López orchestrated El Mayo’s abduction and had him flown into U.S. custody that July. The patch’s wording reflects this factional hostility.
