This embroidered patch reproduces the sleeve insignia associated with the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Donetsk People’s Republic, known in Russian as the Внутренние войска МВД ДНР.
The shield-shaped design follows the visual style of Russian and post-Soviet Ministry of Internal Affairs insignia. A separate upper panel reads ПОЛИЦИЯ, meaning “Police,” while the surrounding inscription spells out ДОНЕЦКАЯ НАРОДНАЯ РЕСПУБЛИКА, or “Donetsk People’s Republic.” The center is marked ВНУТРЕННИЕ ВОЙСКА, meaning “Internal Troops,” above a gold double-headed eagle and the black, blue, and red colors used by the DPR. The DPR Ministry of Internal Affairs maintained its own Internal Troops as a military-style internal-security force. Although connected administratively to the police and Interior Ministry, these personnel were distinct from ordinary civilian police officers and performed duties more comparable to a gendarmerie, national guard, or militarized security force.
