“Fuerzas Especiales Mencho” translates to “Mencho’s Special Forces,” a self-styled designation appearing within CJNG’s armed-group imagery. The name references Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, the cartel founder known as El Mencho. The rooster motif belongs to the wider fighting-rooster symbolism associated with his identity and the organization’s visual culture.
Mexican reporting identifies El Yogurt as Abraham Jesús Ambriz Cano, originally from Apatzingán, Michoacán. He reportedly operated with Los Viagras before joining CJNG around 2022. His associated network has been described under the names La Yoguriza and Operativa Yogurt, with activity reported in Michoacán, Jalisco, and other regions.
The group’s identity has appeared in social media material, music, and insignia. Reporting has specifically described Operativa Yogurt emblems on embroidered patches worn on caps and chest equipment, placing this design within the broader use of identifying insignia by contemporary Mexican criminal organizations. Reports have also linked the network to recruitment of personnel with previous military experience, including foreign nationals.
In May 2025, Mexican Navy personnel conducted an operation targeting Ambriz Cano in Huitzontla, in the municipality of Chinicuila, Michoacán. The operation resulted in an armed confrontation, and he reportedly escaped capture. The incident brought further public attention to his role as a regional CJNG operator.
El Mencho died on February 22, 2026, following a Mexican military operation. The wording on this reproduction retains the leadership reference used when the insignia was documented, preserving an example of the organization’s use of a senior leader’s alias alongside a local operative designation.
