Description

This patch represents the early insignia of the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA), adopted shortly after independence in 1980. Featuring the iconic Zimbabwe Bird perched on a stylized pedestal with wavy lines, it was worn as a formation sign on the uniforms of officers and enlisted men during the transitional period from the Rhodesian Army to the integrated Zimbabwean forces.

Measuring 2 x 2.5 inches, the patch is made with a dark green shield field, golden border, and a striking gold-stitched bird motif. This design carried forward one of the nation’s oldest cultural emblems, linking the new army to Zimbabwe’s heritage while marking the shift into the post-independence era.

This item is a non-authentic reproduction intended for historical and educational purposes, as well as for display in private collections. It is not meant to promote any political stance or ideology.
