This flag is a reproduction of a modified Iranian tricolor banner—green, white, and red—with a stylized reinterpretation of the national emblem at its center and angular Kufic script borders. This variation was prominently seen during mass protests at the Jamkaran Mosque in Qom, Iran, in June 2025, following a series of Israeli airstrikes on Iranian military and nuclear sites.
Unlike the official flag of the Islamic Republic, this protest variant features a visually altered central emblem symbolizing defiance and dissent, with exaggerated proportions and sharper lines. The green and red borders retain the “Allahu Akbar” inscription repeated 22 times in stylized Kufic script, referencing the 22nd of Bahman—the date of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
The flag became an emblem of resistance and mourning when raised over the Jamkaran Mosque during heightened national tensions, capturing the symbolic language of protest during a critical moment in modern Iranian history.
