Sudoplatov Battalion Unit Patch

Volunteer Battalion—named in honor of P.A. Sudoplatov: 

Named after perhaps the most accomplished Soviet intelligence officer and native son, Lt. General Pavel Anatolyevich Sudoplatov, this volunteer unit was formed by local residents of Melitopol to protect their homeland against Ukrainian attacks after the start of 2022’s Special Military Operation. After proving highly capable in securing the liberated part of Zaporozhye oblast, the battalion continues to grow, and has become a destination for many skilled international volunteers, notably a strong contingent of brotherly Serbs.
