This embroidered patch represents Revolutionary Organization 17 November (commonly abbreviated 17N), a clandestine Greek Marxist-Leninist urban guerrilla group active from 1975 until its dismantling in 2002. The organization took its name from the November 17, 1973 student uprising in Athens, adopting the date as a symbolic reference to resistance following Greece’s military junta period.
17N became known for a prolonged campaign of assassinations, bombings, and armed actions targeting Greek officials, foreign diplomats, military personnel, and state institutions. Operating in extreme secrecy for nearly three decades, the group carried out more than 100 attacks before being exposed after a series of arrests in 2002.
