This embroidered patch represents Revolutionary Organization 17 November (commonly abbreviated 17N), a clandestine Greek Marxist-Leninist urban guerrilla group active from 1975 until its dismantling in 2002. The organization took its name from the November 17, 1973 student uprising in Athens, adopting the date as a symbolic reference to resistance following Greece’s military junta period.
17N became known for a prolonged campaign of assassinations, bombings, and armed actions targeting Greek officials, foreign diplomats, military personnel, and state institutions. Operating in extreme secrecy for nearly three decades, the group carried out more than 100 attacks before being exposed after a series of arrests in 2002.
This reproduction patch is intended for collectors interested in modern European militant history and period insignia.

Historical Context
Revolutionary Organization 17 November emerged during Greece’s post-junta era, rooted in Marxist and anti-imperialist ideology. The group opposed NATO, U.S. influence in Greece, and what it viewed as capitalist exploitation.
Between 1975 and 2002, 17N carried out numerous attacks and multiple high-profile assassinations. Its tightly compartmentalized structure allowed it to evade authorities for decades, making it one of Europe’s longest-running urban insurgent groups before its eventual collapse in the early 2000s.
